William Gawron

William Gawron, 79, of Wilbraham died Monday, May 9, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center with his loved ones at his side.  He was born in Holyoke, MA on March 11, 1943, the son of the late Rudolph and Gladys (Misiaszek) Gawron.  He was a 1960 graduate of Chicopee High School.  Bill was an “old time” provisioner and along with his son Bill Jr. operated Gawron Meats in Chicopee.

Bill leaves his wife and life partner Christine of Wilbraham, son William Jr. and his partner Krista Kraynick of Blandford, his daughter Deborah Gawron Donaghey of Oak Park, CA, a grandson Bailey Gawron and granddaughter Taylor Gawron Donaghey.  He was predeceased by his son Brian Gawron and his brother Rudolph Gawron.

His work was his hobby and he took pride in his products and pleasing his customers.  Bill enjoyed classic cars, country music and an old fashioned Sunday drive in a convertible with the top down and his arm on the side.  He celebrated his Polish heritage stocking and selling many Polish products at his store. He had a great sense of humor and treated everyone as his equal.  He cared for family and friends like gold.  Bill will be greatly missed and his infamous Polish kielbasa will live forever year round on Fuller Road in Chicopee.

Funeral services for Bill will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at 9:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church at 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in East Wilbraham Cemetery.  Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 3:00-6:00 PM.  Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Dakin Humane Society at dakinhumane.org or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at nationalmssociety.org,
