Obituary

We now have to find the strength to move forward without our William “Billy” Dzierwinski, who, never one to call attention to himself, quietly passed at his beloved home on Saturday afternoon, November 23, 2019, as we were by his side.  Son of the late Albert and Catherine (Bytnar) Dzierwinski, he was born January 10, 1944 in Edenborn, PA. A graduate of German Township High School, Billy proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.  A longtime Ludlow resident, he worked as a supervisor for United Parcel Service for many years and was a member of the Polish Americans Veteran’s Club.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Barbara (Ragucci) Dzierwinski of Ludlow; a daughter Laurie Ann Kareta and her fiancé Karl Schmidt of West Suffield, CT; two sons Richard Dzierwinski and Paul Dzierwinski and his wife Jacklyn, both of Ludlow and his sister Josephine Gezymalla and her husband Joseph of Brunswick, OH.  He also leaves his 10 grandchildren Vincent, Chanelle (Kevin), William, Derek (Molly), Eponine (Michael), Peter, Theresa, Peyton, Ian and Aidan, a great-granddaughter Andreana and his four-legged family Archie and Dino. Sadly, he was predeceased by his brother Edward Dzierwinski.

Visiting hours for Billy will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA.  Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Mass. Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.  In lieu of flowers, Billy’s family requests that memorial donations be made to the Sgt Joshua Desforges Ludlow VFW Post 336 or the Ron Stephenson Memorial Fund c/o Eric Segundo, Veteran’s Services, Town of Ludlow, 488 Chapin St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
