Timeline for Thomas M. Rickson
Thomas M. Rickson, 81, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born in Ludlow on April 11, 1944 to the late Henry and Beatrice (Plouffe) Rickson. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Rickson and his lifelong friend Henry Daubney.
Tom was a proud graduate of Assumption Preparatory School in Worcester. He dedicated many years of his professional life to the former Jahn Foundry, where he was a respected Foundry Manager. In his retirement, his deep faith led him to be ordained as a Deacon in the Diocese of Springfield in 2011, serving humbly and devotedly at St. Elizabeth’s Parish. Being very active within the Parish, Tom was committed to bringing the Eucharist to the homebound, assisting in the meat pie project and working tirelessly as Custodian at the Church Center.
An avid reader and devoted Red Sox fan, Tom cherished family dinners, evenings with friends at the Majestic Theater and his Friday nights filled with trivia and SCAT games alongside his best friend, Henry (Joe).
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Donna (Richardson) Rickson; his cherished children Kelly Wantman (David); Melony Bernatchez (Tory Rubner) and Andre᷃ Bernatchez (Julia Jarvis) and his brother James Rickson (Paula). He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren Andre᷃ Jr., Jessica, Kallie, Kristina, Tristan, Noah, Gabriel and Jacob; his great-grandchildren Adelynn, Jaxon, Lincoln and Baby Bernatchez, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
