Thomas M. Ahearn

Thomas M. Ahearn, 88, of Ludlow died Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Born February 9, 1927 in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Agnes (Keating) Ahearn. Tom was a 1944 graduate of the former Springfield Technical High School. He proudly served as a member of the National Guard. Tom was the Owner and President of Ahearn Trucking Inc. in Chicopee, MA.

A longtime Ludlow resident, Tom was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and recently St. Elizabeth Parish in Ludlow. He was the former President of the Detachable Container Association; a former director of the National Solid Waste Association; a member of the Massachusetts chapter of NSWA; a member of the Massachusetts Hundred Club; an Elder of Knights of Columbus Council 69; and a member of the Antique Truck Historical Society. During his retirement he enjoyed restoring old trucks, tractors and engines. He was also a licensed airplane and helicopter pilot.

Tom is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Lucille Dorothy Laramee of Ludlow; three daughters Mary-Anne Boyce and her husband Adam of West Windsor, VT; Frances Musial and her husband Jim of Northboro, MA and Pauline LaRiviere and her husband Al of Ludlow, MA. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Kaitlyn Kapur and her husband Anand of New York City, NY and Nicholas Musial of Northboro, MA. Sadly he was pre-deceased by his sister and brother-in- law Rita and Louis Rielle.
