Roy H. and Janice E. Blanchard

Roy H. Blanchard, 69, and his wife Janice E. (Bedore) Blanchard, 71, both of Ludlow passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022.  Son of the late Merritt and Beverly Blanchard, Roy was born in Springfield on July 3, 1952. Roy proudly served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  He worked for many years as an aircraft mechanic.  He later worked at the Pizza Pub in Wilbraham and most recently in maintenance for Popko Realty. He loved fishing and NASCAR.

Born in Springfield on October 4, 1950, Janice was the daughter of the late Howard and Rose Bedore.  Educated in local schools, Janice worked as a nursing assistant and also worked at the Pizza Pub.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching tv. She was a longtime fan of Days of Our Lives..  Roy and Janice loved spending time with family and friends.

Roy is survived by his sister Patricia Gauthier and his brother Timothy Blanchard.  Janice leaves her daughter Sheila Eskett (Michael); her son Daniel Charter (Michelle Cooper); her brothers Howard and Gerald Bedore and her granddaughter Amber LaFrancis.  Sadly, Janice was predeceased by her first husband Donald Charter and her sisters Carol, Nancy and Joanie.

Visiting hours for Roy and Janice will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St. Ludlow, MA.  Rites of Committal will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Mass. Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam
