Robert J. Peczka Sr., 83, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020. Born in Palmer, MA on May 16, 1937, he was the son of the late Bernard and Jean (Wozniak) Peczka. Robert was a 1955 graduate of Cathedral High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Robert went on to work as Controller for Bruschi Construction for many years. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Ludlow.
Robert is survived by his 2 sons Robert J. Peczka Jr. of Indian Orchard and Jonathan Peczka and his wife Sarah of Ludlow. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Ava and Caitlyn Peczka, as well as several nieces and nephews. Sadly, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years Gladys (Giza) Peczka on July 1, 2020 and his sister Judy Peczka in 2016..
Visiting hours for Robert will be Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 8:30-9:15 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Masks, social distancing and all state gathering restrictions will be strictly adhered to.
