Richard was born and raised in Springfield. A graduate of Springfield Technical High School, he served his country in the Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam era. Richard enjoyed riding motorcycles and sports cars. As an award winning competitive archer, he took his talent into archery deer hunting. A widely regarded steel draftsman and designer, he owned his own business for several years and was employed in the industry producing steel frame designs that exist from the Pioneer Valley to Hong Kong.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Richard M. Meade Sr and Etta J. Boucher (nee) Meade. He is survived by his sisters Colleen M. Moynihan, Corrine D. Waterhouse, Carol Ann and her spouse Chester Zielinski. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. A special remembrance from nephews Air Force Colonel (retired) Robert J. Moynihan and Edward Waterhouse. Many thanks to lifelong friends Leo Bailey and Paul Bailey.
