Richard E. Dumont

Richard E. Dumont, 83, of Ludlow, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, surrounded by his family.  Born in Chicopee on February 18, 1939, he was the son of the late Armand and Rita (Ouimette) Dumont.  A graduate of Chicopee Trade School, Richard went on to work as a machine operator at Smith and Wesson for 37 years.  A longtime Ludlow resident, he was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Ines  “Ann” (Domingos) Dumont of Ludlow, his daughter Kim Mathisen and her husband Peter of Wilbraham; his sisters Linda Metayer and her husband Theodore and Shirley Koch , both of  Ludlow , as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Armand Dumont Jr and his sister Marilyn Anderson.

Visiting hours for Richard will be Friday, October 14, 2022 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish.  Burial will be in Island Pond Cemetery.  Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
