Obituary

Richard A. Lockwood, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021.  Son of the late Charles and Mary (McCullough) Lockwood, he was born in Springfield on April 26, 1937. Educated in local schools, Richard proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He worked as a plumber, carpenter and mechanic for several area companies.   A true outdoorsman, Richard loved hunting and fishing.  He was also a talented maker of leather goods.  He was known by his family to fix anything, a real life “MacGyver”.  Richard had a fiercely independent spirit and lived live to its fullest.

Richard is survived by his son Douglas Lockwood of Ft. Myers, FL and his brother George Lockwood of San Bernardino, CA ; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his daughter Linda Lee Fontaine; his brother Charles Lockwood Jr. and his twin sister Pearl Pashko.

Services, with Military Honors will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021  at 3:00 P.M. at the Mass Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
