Obituary

Raymond C. Gates 79 of Ludlow died Friday November 18, 2011 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Ludlow March 31, 1932 son of the late Clarence Gates Sr. and Margaret (Mitchell) Gates. Educated in local schools he proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the Army of the United States. He attained a Korean Service Medal with one bronze star. Ray later worked for the Town of Ludlow Department of Public Works with many years of service. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Cormier) Gates, 3 sons Brian Gates, Glen Gates, and Kevin Gates all of Ludlow, 2 daughters Maureen Pelletier Of Ludlow and Cheryl Mathias of Plymouth, MA . Brother of Hazel Valliere of Hadley, MA Alyce Martell of Belchertown, MA Margaret Lord of Granby, MA and Rita Costa of Chicopee, MA Grandfather of 7 Great-Grandfather of 3. Also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Service Information

Funeral services Celebrating his life will be Tuesday November 22 at 11 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow. Msgr. Homer P. Gosselin will preside. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
