Phyllis J. (Stevens) Thomas, 87, of Ludlow passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020. Born August 27, 1932 in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Lena (Levi) Stevens. Phyllis was a graduate of Framingham High School. A longtime Ludlow resident, she worked for many years as a teller at the former Valley Bank and Trust and Shriner’s Hospital. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ludlow, coordinating the church’s homemade strawberry shortcake booth at Celebrate Ludlow for many years. She was an Order of the Eastern Star Past Matron and a town election poll worker for many years. Phyllis was an outstanding baker who delighted many with her apple pies
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 68 years John Thomas of Ludlow; three sons Philip and his wife Marilyn of Palmer; Michael and his wife Gayle of Ludlow and Kenneth and his wife Doreen of Belchertown; her brother Robert Stevens of Ashland and her sister Marjorie Falone of Framingham. She also leaves 7 beloved grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, corner of Sewall and Hubbard Streets, Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Donations in Phyllis’ memory may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
