Upon discharge, Peter attended Eastern School of Photography in Boston. Upon graduation he worked at the Joseph Jay Studios, where he was assigned to take official portraits of CT. Governor Abraham Ribicoff.  He then worked as Litho Supervisor for the former Diamond Match Co for 28 years, until its closing.  Peter loved antiques and opened Tri Towne Collectables in Indian Orchard. He operated Tri Towne for 20 years. The shop was noted for its clock and Hummel collections and was named best antique shop in the Springfield area.  Peter continued to be active as an area photographer working with the Ludlow Police Dept, Ludlow Register and Springfield newspapers.

An avid golfer, Peter was a member of Elmcrest Country Club for many years.  He also enjoyed his annual trips to Myrtle Beach with friends.  He loved all sports and was an avid Red Sox fan.  He loved collecting, playing bingo and music.   He was an active member of the Polish American Veterans Club for over 50 years and the Polish American Citizen’s Club in Ludlow.  A devout communicant of Christ the King Church, he was a member of the Parish’s Men’s Guild.  Peter’s friendly, outgoing personality was infectious.  He made friends with everyone he met and enjoyed time spent with friends and family.

I remember my uncle Peter fondly as the guy with the camera. His images are what make a great percentage of my family's shared history. When I see my parent's (John and Nancy Nowak) wedding photos, I know who was behind the lens. When he heard I was into vinyl records, he gave me boxes of 45's that he had. I still enjoy that music today and think of him every time I play them. Rest in peace uncle Peter.

Bob, I want to let you and your family know how sorry that I am about your Uncle Peter’s passing. I first met him years ago when he joined my dice bowling game, which was full of fun and laughs. When Peter was no longer able to leave his room I would visit him there and we would chat about golf, the Red Sox and Patriots, things that we both loved. He often spoke about how proud he was of his wonderful family. I know that Peter really appreciated your visits and all of the help that you gave to him. He was one of my favorite vets and I will really miss him.
