Peter Anthony Lizak

Peter Anthony Lizak died suddenly and unexpectedly at home in Chicopee on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Born in Springfield on August 24, 1964 to the late Stanley and Kathleen (Sullivan) Lizak, he was a lifelong area resident and was a faithful communicant at Jericho Bureau for Exceptional Children and Adults in Holyoke since its founding. Peter received his education at Sisters of Providence Children’s Home in Holyoke and the Cardinal Cushing School in Hanover. He worked as an upholsterer under the guidance of Gary Clarke, master upholsterer, for many years at Pioneer Upholstery until its closing. He continued to build new skills at Riverside Industries in Easthampton until his passing. He was an occasional participant in Special Olympics, enjoyed listening to his music either from recordings or on WJMJ and “relaxing, reading the newspaper and taking it easy”. He often checked so that he was sure you had something good planned for lunch or supper.

Peter was loving brother to Paul and Patrick of Ludlow, sister Mary Stringer and her husband Tom of Fairfax VA and sister Ann Marie and her friend Tim Brown of Agawam. Peter was a special uncle to Daniel Lizak and his wife Jon Kimberly of Austin, TX and Robert Lizak of Ludlow and Emily Stringer of Fairfax VA. His niece Sarah Lizak predeceased him in 2019. He leaves many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services for Peter will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026 with family and friends gathering at 9:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 42 Warsaw Ave, Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
