Pauline M. (DesPlaines) Ryba

Pauline (DesPlaines) Ryba, 73, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023. She was born in Springfield on February 6, 1950 to the late Gabriel and Yvonne (Soiron) DesPlaines.  Pauline was a graduate of Cathedral High School and STCC, becoming a medical assistant and office manager for several physicians and last enjoyed working at Randall’s Greenhouse, retiring in 2015.  She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow.

She was predeceased by her husband Chet Ryba.

Pauline leaves her four wonderful siblings Henri and his wife Theresa DesPlaines; Marguerite and her husband Steve Swartz; Roger DesPlaines and Daniel DesPlaines and his partner Maria Zygmont.  She also leaves her nieces Danielle Hazlett and her husband Joe; Kim DesPlaines; her nephews Brian DesPlaines, Daniel DesPlaines and his wife Kate and Edward DesPlaines and his wife Jessica, as well as her grand-nieces and nephew Lyla, Ava, Ashley, Angela, Aubrey and Austin along with her close cousin Evelyn Hoult.

Pauline loved butterflies, feeding her birds and especially her cats Ella and Tangy.

Funeral services for Pauline will be Friday, October 6, 2023 at 9:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA.  Rites of Committal will be in St. Aloysisus Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to The Xerces Society, 628 NE Broadway, Ste 200, Portland OR 97232-1324 or www.xerces.org for the preservation of Monarch Butterflies or the Thomas J.
