Margaret H. (Savides) Cicerchia

Margaret (Savides) Cicerchia, 92, formerly of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023.  Born in Springfield on December 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Kiriacos and Alice (Carroll) Savides.  A graduate of the High School of Commerce in Springfield, Margaret worked as the secretary for the labor and delivery unit of the former Wesson Women’s Hospital. Margaret was a volunteer for several years helping with Alzheimer’s patients.

One of Margaret’s favorite pastimes was shopping, whether she was buying clothes or watches.  She enjoyed her week at Hampton Beach every August with her best friend, Georgia.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow.

Margaret is survived by her son Vincent Cicerchia Jr. (Deanne) of North Andover, MA and her daughters Mary Henderson (Paul) of West Springfield and Jane Cicerchia (Dave Proulx) of Hampden, MA; her brother-in-law Arthur Cicerchia and sister-in-law Trish Savides. She also leaves her 7 beloved grandchildren Justin, Jennifer, Nicolle. Nicholas, Brenna, Angelina & Audrey and 7 great-grandchildren Erin, Alana, John, William, Ryleigh, Iris and Ray who were always the sparkle of her eye and joy of her spirit. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband of 70 years Vincent Cicerchia in 2021 and her siblings Elizabeth Buckland, Olympia Gallerani and Edward Savides.                                  .

Visiting hours for Margaret will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish.  The burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
