Luella Nancy (Wilkinson) Farley, 87, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Wingate in Hampden. Daughter of the late Kelita and Eva O. (Stevenson) Wilkinson, she was born in Norwalk, CT on July 26, 1927. She lived most of her life in Springfield, MA.
Lu was a happy and generous soul who loved spending time with her family, camping, swimming and bingo. She was a longtime member, volunteer and Deacon at Union Church in the Pine Point section of Springfield.
Luella leaves five children, Dennis Farley and fiance Patty; Catherine Dabney and her husband William; Linda Casey and her husband Mark; William Farley and his wife Victoria; and John Farley. She also leaves nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sadly she was pre-deceased by her brother Tom and her sisters Jean and Eva.
The family appreciates the attention given to Lulu by the caregivers at Wingate.
Services Celebrating Luellas life will be at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. A reception at the Hampden Federated Church will follow the service. Burial will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Parker St, Springfield, MA.
