Lorraine R. (Moreau) Lafayette

Lorraine R. (Moreau) Lafayette, 90, of Springfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Born in Holyoke, MA on October 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Elmina (Cote) Moreau.

Educated in local schools, Lorraine was a talented seamstress who worked for many years at the former Tucker Garment Co. She had the ability to mend anything and create beautiful garments from the most difficult patterns. In her later years she also worked at Caristos Cleaners in Ludlow, MA. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish in Springfield.

Lorraine loved playing the organ and playing bingo. She had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

Lorraines greatest joy and accomplishment was her family, especially her three children. She loved going on family vacations and was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Lorraine is survived by her son Edward Lafayette and his wife Joanne of Ludlow, MA; and her four grandchildren Michael Lafayette, Kimberly Desroisers, Maria Jahn and Drayton Michaels. She also leaves four beloved great-grandchildren. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Frank J. Lafayette Sr; her son Francis Lafayette Jr. and her daughter Barbara Jahn.
