Lois grew up in Springfield, MA and graduated from the High School of Commerce. She served her community for many years as the assistant Director of the Springfield Library and Museums association. Her journey through life was one of deep faith, evident through her service and commitment to her Catholic community. A longtime Ludlow resident, she was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow where she taught CCD for 27 years, participated in numerous outreach activities and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
Lois will be dearly missed by her two sons, James LaMondia and his wife Bonnie of Enfield, CT; Thomas LaMondia and his wife Susan of East Longmeadow, MA; her daughter Catherine Gaylor and her husband Michael of Enfield, CT; and her beloved sister, Elizabeth Walsh. She leaves behind 9 adoring grandchildren, Jeffrey, Patrick, Christopher, Katelyn, Cara, Allyson, Carly, Cameron and Matthew and 4 great-grandchildren: Wesley, Raegan, Brooklyn and Indy, as well as many nieces and nephews and her sweet dog, Duchess. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Floyd and by her sister Jean Paquette.
Lois was a gentle spirit who touched the lives of many with her generosity, kindness, and unwavering love. She enjoyed many hobbies including reading, painting, knitting and genealogy. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with and creating lasting memories with her loving family. The world was a better place because of “Grammy.” She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
