Leon P. Demers

Leon P. Demers, 85, of Belchertown passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022.  Son of the late Wilfred and Louise (Perreault) Demers, he was born in Chicopee on October 24, 1936.  Leon worked in sales for the Springfield Newspapers for many years retiring in 2012.  He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow.

Leon is survived by his children Glenn Demers and Roxanne Stebbins; his brother Harold Demers and his sister Lorraine Demers.  He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Kevin, Jessica, Brian and Michael as well as his great-grandson Max. Sadly he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years Lillian Demers on June 6, 2022, his brother David Demers and sisters Pauline Humason and Virginia Demers.

Visiting hours for Leon will be Monday, July 11, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth’s Parish at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in Island Pond Cemetery.  Donations in Leon’s memory may be made to St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
