Kathleen N. (Roughgarden) Surprenant, 81, of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Born February 19, 1942 in Patterson , NJ, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Anna (Doremus) Roughgarden. Raised in Brandon, VT, Kathy provided in-home child care for many years.
Kathy was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Joseph Surprenant on January 11, 2024. She is survived by her daughters Christine Surprenant and her wife Chris and Denise Curley and her husband John, all of Springfield. She also leaves her grandchildren Tiffany, Liam and Erin and her great-granddaughter Alanna. In addition to her parents and husband, Kathy was predeceased by her brother Roy Roughgarden and her sister Shirley Noble
Visiting hours for Kathy will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. A funeral home service will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.
