John W. Mulhern, 89, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, under hospice care. Son of the late John and Susan (Guilfoil) Mulhern, he was born in Worcester on August 18, 1929. Educated in Worcester schools, he attended Worcester Technical College. John proudly served his country as a corporal in the U.S Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a cost engineer at Riley Stoker Corp.
John is survived by two sons Devin J. Mulhern and his husband Glenn Mallinson of Marlborough, MA; Paul W. Mulhern and his wife Lynn of Dracut, MA, a daughter Anita M Chmura and her husband Jeffrey of Chicopee; his son-in-law Brian Barch of Ludlow and a sister Jean Moisio and her husband Richard of Rutland, MA. He also leaves his grandsons Kyle and Ryan Barch and Christopher Chmura. Sadly he was predeceased by his wife M. Natalee Mulhern on November 30, 2018; his daughter Pamela Barch in 2010.
Funeral Services celebrating John’s life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA. Internment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield, MA. Visiting hours will precede the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. John’s family requests that, in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association MA/NH Chapter, 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
