Obituary

John J. Maziarz 80 a life long resident of Ludlow died Thursday July 11, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow January 21, 1933 son of the late John M. and Mary (Strycharz) Maziarz. Educated in local schools he was a graduate of Ludlow High School. During the Korean War John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, he was stationed in Bordeaux, France. He was employed with Forbes & Wallace as a delivery truck driver, later working at Ouellette’s Machinery of East Longmeadow, and Western Mass Door and Hardware in Ludlow. A Faithful, active and devout Communicant of Christ the King Church, he was a longtime member of it’s men’s guild, serving as Sergeant at Arms. He was also a devoted parish picnic worker. John truly loved his Polish music and was a musician for many years. He played clarinet and Saxophone with the Frankie G. Orchestra. He leaves his loving wife Frances C. (Grybosh) Maziarz of Ludlow, a daughter Kathleen Bachetti and her husband Alan of East Longmeadow, a son Rick Maziarz and his wife Donna of Ludlow, and a daughter Christine Fitzell and her husband Jim of Springfield. Cherished grandfather of Jenna Bachetti, Kristen MacLeod and her husband Kevin, and Laura Maziarz. Also survived by his brother Walter Maziarz and his wife Patricia, of Wilbraham, and his son in law Mark Lizak of Ludlow. John is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by his daughter Joanne Lizak April 2, 2005.

Service Information

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Tuesday July 16, 2013 with family and friends gathering at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow at 8:45 AM to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church at 10 AM. Rites of Committal will follow with Military Honors in Island Pond Cemetery.
