Obituary

Joanne T. (Cannamela) Pellegrini, 65, of Ludlow, passed away surrounded by loved ones peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022.  Daughter of the late Louis and Audrey (Cardin) Cannamela, she was born in Springfield on August 10, 1956.  A longtime Ludlow resident, Joanne graduated from Ludlow High School and received her Associates degree from Holyoke Community College.  She worked for many years in the restaurant industry and in the last 20 years, worked as a medical billing specialist, making many wonderful friends along the way.

An avid gardener, Joanne loved going on adventures to find new plants and garden trinkets. She loved live music and any excuse to dance. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family and watching her grandkids play. Known for her larger than life personality and infectious laugh Joanne will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Joanne is survived by her daughters Lisa Moore and Kaitlyn Dowd of Springfield and Lauren Aldrich and her husband Stephen of Wales; her brother Louis Cannamela III of Ludlow; her 8 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Sadly, in addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Christopher Moore in 2014 and her sister Jacqueline  Christopherson in 2021.

A funeral service for Joanne will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St. Ludlow, MA. Visiting hours at the funeral home will precede the service from Noon-3:00 PM. Due to ongoing Covid-19 concerns masks will be required.

We will always remember the great times we had with Joanne during our hockey years. I will never forget her voice saying "team work"and the enthusiasum that she brought to each and every game, practice and hockey tournament. She was a joy to be around. Joanne will truly be missed! We enjoyed trading plants for our gardens and went to garden shows.She was always fun and full of laughter.She loved her family with her whole heart.She was my beach buddy .
