Joanne A. (Land) Banas

Joanne A. (Land) Banas, 80, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 3, 2023.  She was born in Worcester, NY on May 7 1943 to the late Edward Land Sr. and Norma (Decker) Land.  She resided in Ludlow for 63 years.

Joanne was a loving, caring person who had many talents; sewing, crocheting, collecting glassware, supporting QVC and Amazon with her shopping to name a few.  What brought her the most joy was cooking, baking and decorating cakes for family and friends.

Joanne was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Ralph just 2 months after celebrating their 60^th anniversary in 2019 and her sister Jeanne (Land) Wills. She leaves behind her loving family; son Stephen Banas and his wife Mae; daughter AnnMarie (Banas) Edwards and her husband Rick, whom Joanne considered her “3^rd son”, all of Ludlow and son Michael Banas and his wife Jenn of Three Rivers.  She also leaves her grandchildren Elecktra, Cheyanne, Gabriel, Aurianna, Brayden, Amanda and Ashley; her great-grandchildren Brianna and Anthony and her great-great-granddaughter Emma. In addition, she leaves her brother Edward Land Jr. and his wife Janet of Belchertown, several nieces and nephews and her “grand-dogs” Justus and Skylar.

All services are private. There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at ASPCA.org.
