Jean H. B. (Burnett) Ryan

Jean H. B. Ryan, 81, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023.  Daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Burnett, she was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 7, 1941.  She was a middle school teacher for many years in East Longmeadow and also taught in Maryland. Jean was an active member of Christ Church Cathedral in Springfield.

Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 11 years Dennis Ryan; her brothers and sisters-in-law Gail and Thomas Finnegan Jr; Mary and Albert Carlson, Carol and John Richters and John Ryan as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Jean also had an incredible, loving and supportive network of friends throughout her life.

Visiting hours for Jean will be Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA.  Funeral services, with reception to follow will be Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Christ Church Cathedral, 35 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA.  Please meet directly at church. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Christ  Church Cathedral.
