Janice R. (Phoenix) Wells, 77, of Ludlow passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Born in Ludlow on January 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Viola (Richards) Phoenix. Janice was a 1961 graduate of Ludlow High School. She worked for many years as a manager for Bank of Boston, later Sovereign Bank. Janice loved New England sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. She and her husband Dave loved spending their winters at their home in Ruskin, FL. Janice’s friendly, caring personality will be missed by the many friends she leaves behind.
Janice is survived by her loving husband of 59 years David Wells of Ludlow, her sons Dean Wells of Ludlow and Brian Wells and his wife Kathleen of Killingworth, CT and her brother Raymond Phoenix of Ludlow. She also leaves her grandson Ian Wells.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Janice’s funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Hubbard St. Ludlow, MA. Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery. Masks, social distancing and all state gathering restrictions will be strictly adhered to. Yes Jancie was one of a kind, sweet, caring & a loving person like no other. Always a big smile and a sweet Hello to everyone she knew or meant. If u were out w/her, u were always left behind cause she chatted w/everyone. Dave use to call her the Manager of home in Ruskin, FL. She loved her Madona as everyone else did also. A very close net family the Phoenix family and always willing to help others if needed. I will never forget all the great memories I have had w/Janice over the years, she was a special person and friend indeed. Hope u rest in peace my dear, we will all miss u.
