Jane (Kowal) Pasterczyk, 95, formerly of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2023. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kot) Kowal, she was born in Chicopee on June 7, 1928. A graduate of Chicopee High School, Jane worked for Spaulding Co for many years. She was a devout and active communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus B.M where she frequently volunteered for bingo and pierogi making.
Jane is survived by her daughter Lynn Neild and her husband Dustin of Littleton, MA; her sister and lifelong best friend Gladys Stokowski of Chicopee; her sisters-in-law Joan O’Brien and Judy Powers and her husband Michael, all of Chicopee and her brother-in-law James Pasterczyk and his wife Susan of Cudahy, WI. She also leaves her beloved granddaughter Moxie (Scout) Michaela Neild, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband Michael John Pasterczyk in 1999 and her siblings Max Kowal (Jenny), Frederick Kowal (Stella), Edward Kowal (Mary), Stanley Kowal (Alice), Albina (Kowal) Chmura (Walter), Adelle (Kowal) Gladys (Michael) and her brothers-in-law Benedict Stokowski, John (Jack) Pasterczyk and Ralph O’Brien.
A lover of polka dots, dancing, the ocean, Betty Boop and all things red, Jane was vivacious and spirited. She loved children and was often referred to as “Crazy Cioci Jane” because of her fun-loving, joyful spirit at family functions.
