Obituary

James A. Taylor, 64, of Belchertown passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 22, 2021. Son of the late Leonard and Winifred (Greenwood) Taylor, he was born in Holyoke, MA on April 14, 1957. Jim was a devout communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Belchertown. He was also well-known as a “car guy,” often found working on and racing his Marauder and Hellcat. Jim was a season-ticket holder and super fan of the Springfield Thunderbirds hockey team and enjoyed trips to Canada to cheer on the Montreal Canadiens.

Jim is survived by his sisters Diana Roy and her husband Earl of Ludlow and Donna Adamec and her husband Larry of Greenville, SC, as well as nieces Amy MacArthur, Melissa McRobbie, and Julie Scoggins, and nephew Andrew Adamec. Jim was very close to many wonderful cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Diana, Donna, family members and friends, We are so sorry for your loss. Even though I did not know Jim personally, I have heard wonderful things about him. He graduated with us from Ludlow High School Class of 1975. You are in our thoughts and prayers. His memory will always be in your hearts......

Cousin Jim was an example for all of us to follow. He was kind, thoughtful, loved a good laugh, and was loved by all who knew him. I recall joking and laughing with him at the "cousin dinners" and other gatherings. I recall "bumping" into him at a couple of hockey games in Springfield - what are the odds? I recall how much he was into muscle cars and his Buick Marauder. He loved his family dearly. My deepest condolences to the family. He will be truly missed.
