Obituary

Irene May (Gosciminski) Hite, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Irene was resident of Wilbraham, MA but upon her marriage to Danny on May 5, 1962, she became a lifelong resident of Ludlow. Irene served as a lunch mother for years at Chapin Street Elementary School.

She enjoyed camping with her family and spent many years visiting different sites, including Cape Cod, the White Mountains, Washington DC, Iowa and Florida. She was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed cheering them on watching every game win or lose. Irene took pride in her home and her role as homemaker. An excellent craftsperson, she crafted many beautiful items to enhance the home. She also created a beautiful flower gardens each summer. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing board games and doing crossword puzzles.

Irene was predeceased be her husband Danny Lee Hite, her parents Bolec and Stella Gosciminski and her brother Larry Gosciminski.

She is survived by her loving sons Brian Daniel Hite of Westminster, MA, Mark Lee Hite and his three children Ryan, Alex and Hayley of Tiverton, RI.

A special thank you to the staff at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer for their kindness and care they showed to Irene in her final days.
