Ida M. (Saloio) Santos

On January 4, 2023, Ida M. (Saloio) Santos passed away at the age of 95.  She was the daughter of the late Armelin and Luciana (Ribeiro) Saloio.  She was the beloved mother of five children; Sandra Houghton and husband Frank of East Granby, CT, Paul Santos and wife Ruth; Donna Bertini and husband Michael, Margaret Leits and husband Kenneth and John Santos, all of Ludlow.  She is also survived by four brothers Armelin, Arthur, Manuel and Raymond Saloio and wife Diane and sister-in-law Lois Morais. Her arms were always open for a hug from her eight grandchildren Tod, Paul, Brenda, David, Nicole, Caroline, Cheryl and Kimberly and her 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John Santos, sister Irene Methe and brothers Jose, Carlos and James Saloio.

Ida worked at the coffee shop in the former Ludlow Hospital for many years where her warmth and efficiency was appreciated by all.  She was a devoted and loving mother as well as a wonderful cook.
