Howard L. Babineau, 87, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Born in Springfield on August 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Earl and Doris (Seymour) Babineau. Howard graduated from Technical High School in Springfield. A lifelong Mason, Howard made his career as a mason for his entire life. His craftmanship, dedication and pride in his work were reflected in every project he undertook.
Howard is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Phyllis (Cislak) Babineau of Ludlow; his son Mark Babineau (Hayley) of Ludlow; his daughters Robin Babineau (Bonnie) of Belchertown; Lynne Fraser (Matthew) of Wilbraham and Cynthia Sares (Jason) of East Longmeadow. His pride in his children and their accomplishments was evident to all who knew him. He also leaves his eight grandchildren Justin, Christopher, Michael, Lauren, Lindsay, Emily, Nicholas and Zachary, as well as his two great-grandchildren Harper and Matthew. Howard’s love for his family extended to all and he found great joy in being surrounded by them, whether during family gatherings, Sunday dinners or holiday celebrations. In addition to his parents, Howard was predeceased by his brother Philip Babineau and his sister Barbara Bumbaca.
Visiting hours for Howard will be Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 8:00-10:15 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will be in Island Pond Cemetery, Center St., Ludlow, MA. Donations is Howard’s memory may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104.
