Hermine J. (Vanderlick) DeMichele, 87, passed away on September 22, 2026. Born in Northampton, MA on August 21, 1939, Hermine was a daughter of the late Stanley and Lucile (Sawicki) Vanderlick. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. Hermine was employed for many years as a bookkeeper for several local companies. She was a member of the Ludlow Democratic Committee. Hermine enjoyed walks along the Riverwalk and was a talented painter.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Victor DeMichele, her sons, Daniel Deso (Linda) and John Deso, a daughter, Sharon Lavoie (David), her grandchildren Brian Deso, Shannon Deso and Nicole Lavoie, her sister, Inez Tate, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services for Hermine will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Visitation will take place from 3:00-6:00pm, concluding with a prayer service at 6:00pm. Donations in Hermine’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Uncle Vic, Kim and I want to offer our condolences to you and all of Puch's family. We were so sorry to hear about her passing. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Vic- We are so sorry for your loss. Just think about all the happy memories and the trips to North Carolina, Jekyll Island and Florida. So many fun times when we all were younger and in better shape. Lot of fun going out with Geri and Russ on the boat and seeing so many dolphins, lots of beach days and shopping. Lots of entire family holidays with our large family. Were lucky to have so many fun times. Keep the fun memories alive till we all meet again. Love Anthony and Diane

Victor, I am sorry for the loss of your”Pooch”. I am glad I got to know her even if it was for a little while and how you were so attentive to her. She always seemed happy when you brought her to spend time with our group at Riverwalk and we enjoyed her company. She will be missed. In deepest sympathy.
