Helen (Page) Carrier, of Ludlow, MA, passed away on February 4, 2023 at the age of 105. She was born on October 25, 1917 to Louis and Delia (Savage) Page and was one of seven sisters. She spent her youth in Aldenville until she met and married Anthony Carrier in 1939. In addition to raising 4 children, she worked as the bookkeeper for Carrier Chemical Company until her retirement. She and Tony moved to their summer cottage on Lake Wickaboag in West Brookfield, where they lived until Tony’s death in 1998. At the age of 80, Helen had a home built in Ludlow where she lived with her daughter, Rachel. In her retirement years, Helen enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren, embroidery, quilting and playing cards and board games with family and friends. In her late 90’s, Helen took up watercolor painting and created beautiful floral artwork. Helen was a very proud and strong woman and always made sure to look her best with the latest styles. She had a very positive attitude and always had words of encouragement for those she met. Her motto was, “You have to keep going!”. Her biggest pet peeve was a lukewarm cup of tea.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: John Carrier (Kathy) of West Brookfield, Doris Koziol (David) of Monson, Rachel Carrier of Ludlow and daughter-in-law Pat Carrier of Wilbraham. She also leaves her grandchildren: Michelle, Nicole, Matthew, Andrea, Mikal, Jacob and Nathan; her great-grandchildren: Jonathon, Tasia, Corey, Sara, Anthony, Victoria, Holly, Zachary and Juan along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, Anthony, her son, Levi Carrier, her infant daughter, Margaret and her infant brother, Gerald and her six sisters.
