Helen "Betty" Etter

Helen “Betty” (Topham) Etter, 92, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Born October 29, 1927 in Denver, CO, Betty was a longtime Springfield resident. She earned a Masters Degree from AIC and taught English and Reading for 20 years at Kiley Jr. High School.  She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Betty is survived by her 2 sons Arthur Etter of Springfield and David Etter and his wife Wendie of Feeding Hills.  She also leaves her grandsons Ben and Sam Etter. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years James Etter in 2015 as well as her siblings Ann Elsner and Arthur Topham.

Funeral services for Betty will be held Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 6:30 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours at the funeral home will precede the service from 5:00-6:30 PM. Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Bethesda Lutheran Church, 455 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118.
