Gaston R. Desrochers, 88, of Ludlow passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Son of the late Homer and Delphine (Duquette) Desrochers, he was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada on July 29, 1932. Gaston proudly served as a member of the U.S. Army and as an interpreter in France. He went on to work for several area companies and owned and operated Leo’s Auto Parts and Machine Shop for 11 years as well as The Christmas Tree Center. He was a member of American Legion Post #52 and a devout communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish. An avid gardener, Gaston especially enjoyed growing mini pumpkins which he donated to St. John the Baptist School each Fall.
Gaston is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Carmen (Boutin) Desrochers of Ludlow; three daughters Susan Rose (Robert) and Kimberly Dunn (Joseph) both of Ludlow and Denise Laycock (Robert) of Fairfield, CA.; grandchildren Eric Kozlik (Carolyn); Kathryn Kozlik Cepero (Nicholas); Danielle, Zachary and Kyler Laycock. He also leaves his special cat Muffin
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial for Gaston on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will follow in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Gaston’s memory to St. John the Baptist School, 217 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056. Masks, social distancing, no contact and all gathering restrictions will be adhered to.

Pep, first let me thank you for one of your greatest gifts, Denise, she is my whole world and everything I do I do for her, just as you have done for Mem. You have been a great example for my life. Desrochers Family So sorry to hear of Gaston's passing. He and Carmen were so caring and kind to our elderly parents who lived across the street. The Norwich Road neighborhood is a little smaller now without all of them. Rest in Peace. Mulhern Family
