Francis C. (Bucky) Dominique, 92, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, MA on March 31, 1931, he was the son of the late Leo and Rose (Caske) Dominique. A longtime Ludlow resident, Bucky proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Occupation of Japan. He worked as a mechanic for Alamac Mills and later, Utility Manufacturing Co. retiring in 1993. Bucky was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post 286 in Wilbraham and member of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Ludlow.
Bucky is survived by his children Gary Dominique (Ellen); Gayle Farrell (Dean) and Donna Soja (Garry) all of Ludlow; his sisters Geraldine Ayers and Diane Pease (Bob), also of Ludlow. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Jeff (Toni), Jeremy (Karla), Dan (Sarah), Krystal (Kyle), Melissa, Laura (Derek), Justin and Jason, as well as his great-grandchildren Nikolaus, Cameron, Marina, Calleigh, Lily, Kristofer, Leo, Zoe, Eva, Gigi, Lucci; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Dawn Brochu and his sisters-in law Evelyn Urban and Irene Hurst, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Sadly, he was predeceased by his wife Alice (Brochu) Dominique and his granddaughter Jaime Leandro in 2020, his brother Leo Dominique and his sister Bernice Batista.
Bucky’s family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Hospice, especially Megan and Pam for the wonderful care they provided to him.
Visiting hours for Bucky will be Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a funeral home service at 10:30 AM. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
