Fr. Michael F. Rutan-Heningham

Fr. Michael F. Rutan-Heningham, 74, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026. Son of the late William and Margaret (Fuschino) Rutan, he was born in Staten Island, NY on May 31, 1951. Fr. Michael received his BA from Stockton University in NJ and Masters degrees from Liberty Theological Seminary and Antiochian House of Studies. Fr. Michael most recently served as Pastor of St. Stephen Orthodox Church in Ludlow.

Fr. Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years Elsie (Balano) Rutan-Heningham; his sons Sean Rutan-Heningham (Kirsten); Brennan Rutan-Heningham (Jose); his daughters Ingrid Lake (Benjamin) and Alice Rutan-Heningham. He also leaves his brothers-in-law Richard and John Balano and his grandchildren Grady, Aidan, Quara, Lennox, Sylvia and Ulysses. In addition to his parents, Fr. Michael was predeceased by his son Gyrth Rutan.

Visiting hours for Fr. Michael will be Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 3:00-6:00 PM in St, Stephen Orthodox Church, 44 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Funeral services will be held in the church at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, followed by burial in Reservoir Cemetery, Center St.,Ludlow, MA. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen Orthodox Church.
