Elaine T. (Turgeon) Thompson Trottier

Elaine T. (Turgeon) Thompson Trottier, 85, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. Daughter of the late Lionel and Antoinette (Van Lier) Turgeon, she was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on February 28, 1938.  Elaine was a graduate of Holy Name High School and worked as a waitress at the former Flaming Pit restaurant for many years.  She later worked as a housekeeper for several area parishes in the Springfield Diocese.  She was a 3^rd Order Dominican and devout member of St. George’s Parish in Chicopee until its closing and later St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow.

Elaine is survived by her daughters Kathleen St. Laurent (Robert) of Chicopee; Tina Thompson (Ron Soloman) of Windsor Locks, CT; Susan Rasmussen (Michael) of Silverdale, WA; her step-children Donald Trottier Jr. (Louise) of Southampton and Tammy Yeargin (Bill) of Rochester, IN. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Matthew St. Laurent (Caitlin); Rachel Reda (Eric) and Joshua Rasmussen (Chelsea) along with 9 step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband Donald Trottier; her brother Richard Turgeon and her step-daughter Lisa Skot.

The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses, aides and staff at Daybrook Village Nursing Facility for their wonderful care and to Nurse Tara from Beacon Hospice for her guidance and support.

Funeral services for Elaine will be Monday, September 25, 2023 at 9:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA.  Rites of Committal will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chicopee, MA.  Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2:00-5:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers donations in Elaine’s name may be made to St. Elizabeth’s Parish or The Lay Fraternities of St. Dominic, Mother of God Chapter 103, 1430 Riverdale St., West Springfield, MA 01085
