Eileen L (Maxfield) Shea, 71, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026. Daughter of the late John and Murial (Seinsoth) Maxfield, she was born in Danbury, CT on November 4,1954. Eileen graduated from High School Commerce in Springfield and worked for Credit Data Service Co for over 40 years. She was proud of her Irish heritage and loved Irish music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Eileen is survived by her son Thomas Shea and his wife Jennifer Mandeville-Shea; her brothers Douglas Maxfield (Charlotte); Liam Maxfield; Mark Maxfield (Tammy) and Adam Maxfield (Lawrence) and her sister Christine Palmer. She also leaves her two beloved grandchildren Derek and Lillyanne Mandeville-Shea. Sadly,she was predeceased by her husband Thomas Shea and her sister Kathryn Maxfield in 2015 and her brother-in-law Fred Palmer.
Services celebrating Eileen’s life will be Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 12:00 Noon at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall Street, Ludlow, MA. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be from 10:30-12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Main St, Agawam, MA.

I am so sad knowing my lovely friend of over 50 yrs. has passed. I remember so many good times that we had from Springfield to Cape Cod. My deepest condolences to her entire family. She will be sadly missed.
My sweet sister Eileen. From cradle to grave we were friends, confidants, and partners in mischievous shenanigans. Because we were so close in age, and we grew up doing practically everything together, my heart is bursting with precious memories of you. I miss you so much, but we will meet up again someday.
