Edward J. Ryba

Edward J. Ryba 89 a life long resident of Ludlow died on his birthday Thursday September 15, 2011. Born in Ludlow September 15, 1922 son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Walek) Ryba. Educated in local schools he was a graduate of Ludlow High School. He proudly served his country during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade with the 734th field artillery Battalion in the Army of the United States. He later worked for the Westinghouse Corporation as a forman, and then retired from Town & Country Liquors of West Springfield. He was a Communicant of Christ the King Church. An avid gardener, he loved fishing, and was a fan of all Massachusetts sports especially the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Husband of the late Bridgett (Wilk) Ryba who died in 1994. He is survived by his cherished daughter Patricia Staples of Springfield, a sister Jean Krawiec of Ludlow, a God Daughter Charlene Krawiec and God Son Barry Wilk, a close friend Pauline Pisarski of Ludlow, also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by his siblings Stephen Ryba and Gladys Soltys.
