Obituary

Edward A. Dougal 86 of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, MA died Monday March 9, 2009 in Baystate Medical Center of Springfield, MA. Born in the Three Rivers Village of Palmer, MA July 28, 1922 he was the son of the late Adam and Marianna (Krysiak) Daugiello. A graduate of Palmer High School, and American International College he furthered his education at the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School of Finance and Western New England College Law School. Edward Proudly served his country during World War II by enlisting in the United States Navy attaining the rank of Specialist Second Class as an aviation gunnery instructor. He had worked as an accountant for Van Norman Co. as a comptroller for R.E. Phelon, and retired after several years with the US Postal Service. A faithful and active Communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, he served as a lector, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Springfield Elks, and the St. Joseph and St. Stanislaus Societies of Three Rivers, MA. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Stephanie (Weigel) Dougal, his children Walter A. Dougal of Indian Orchard,MA Mary A. Dougal and her husband Kevin McClellan of Northbrook,IL Edward F. Dougal and his wife Donna of Nacogdoches,TX Christopher J. Dougal of Granby,MA Stephen A. Dougal and his wife Carol A. of Wilbraham,MA Ann E. Dougal of Indian Orchard,MA Theresa A. Dougal and her husband D. Mark Harris of Bethlehem,PA Elizabeth M. Dougal, and Thomas C. Dougal and his wife Julie A. all of Indian Orchard,MA. Loving grandfather of Benjamin F., Alexander J., and Sarah C. Dougal, David F., Robert A. and Emily R. McClellan, Sylvie M., and Linnea A. Harris, Aleksandra M. and Cameron T. Dougal. Also survived by many nieces, nephews extended family members and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by his siblings John, Peter and Joseph Dougal, Rev. Conrad Daugiello, Viola Gay, Adeline Motyka and Mae Warga.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Friday March 13,2009 with family and friends gathering at 8:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow,MA followed by a Con-Celebrated Liturgy of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church 15 Parker St. Indian Orchard, MA at 10 AM Rites of committal with Military Honors will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
