Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Edmund P. Nolan, 92, of Ludlow, MA on June 22, 2022.  Son of the late Raymond and Gladys (Decorie) Nolan, he was born in Ludlow, MA, on June 12, 1930.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia, of 54 years and his brother Paul in 2009.  He leaves 2 daughters Lauren Nolan of Ludlow and Betsy Nolan and her husband Glenn Carlson of Derry, NH, one son Daniel Nolan of Monson, MA; grandchildren Megan and David Nolan, James and Ben Carlson; Joey and Brendan Nolan; sister-in-law Jeannette Nolan of Ludlow, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Ed retired from Monsanto after 35 years of service.  He took pride in being the best “110” card player.  He enjoyed his mobile home at Hampden Beach and was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Notre Dame, Patriots and the Celtics.  His passion was playing billiards,  he appreciated a good debate on politics and was a movie collector. Ed was always ready and willing to help his family and neighbors.  He will be loved and missed by many.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.  Donations in his memory may be made to the Ludlow Senior Center Billiards Room, 228 State St. Ludlow, MA or a charity of your choice.

Sorry to learn about Ed's passing. We had a lot of fun together at Monsanto playing cards at noon. We did a lot of bowling together as well as playing softball. It's been a while since I have seen him but thought about him frequently. Our prayers are with him ..
