Edith (Rivers) Griffin 87 of Ludlow died in the care and comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield July 6, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Louise (Roberts) Rivers. Educated in local schools, she was a 1942 Graduate of Commerce High School. She was a retired bookkeeper for Joeal Tools with many years of service. She had also worked for the farmers Exchange, and for Tom Griffin Insurance Co. A Communicant of the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth, she was an avid gardner, and loved to read. She was the widow of Thomas W. Griffin who died December 23, 2002. She was the mother of the late Dawn A. Griffin who died July 20, 2002. She is survived by her Son Thomas W. Griffin of Ludlow, a daughter Colleen D. Spinker of San Diego, CA and Patricia Griffin of Gilbert, AZ. Grandmother of 5, Great-grandmother of 8. Also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly she was predeceased by her sisters Ella Surprenant, June Galis, and Louise Deveno.

Funeral Services Celebrating her Life will be Friday, January 20 at 8:45 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow, Msgr. Homer P. Gosselin will preside. Rites of Committal will be at a later date in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
