Edite (Fernandes) Martinez

Edite (Fernandes) Martinez, 91, of Ludlow, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024. Daughter of the late Jose Bento Pires and Aurinda Fernandes, she was born in Codessoso. Portugal on September 23, 1932. She worked as a machine operator at Spaulding Sporting Goods for many years and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Edite is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years Jose Martinez; her daughters Maria Libbey and her husband Brian and Lisa Salvas and her husband Robert, all of Ludlow. She also leaves a brother Manuel Fernandes of France; her 3 grandchildren Benjamin Libbey and his wife Sara; Michael Salvas and Elizabeth Salvas as well as her great-grandchildren Reed and Eloise. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Ilidio Pires, Antonio Fernandes and Joao Dos Santos.

Visiting hours for Edite will be Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 8:45-10:15AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St. Ludlow, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church. Burial will be in Island Pond Cemetery.
