Obituary

Earle I. Place, 89, of Belchertown passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.  Son of the late Irvin and Margaret (Howe) Place, he was born in New Bedford, MA on August 7, 1932.  One of 16 children, he was educated in New Bedford schools.  Earle proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was a self-employed electrician for many years and was highly regarded for his wealth of electrical and mechanical knowledge.

Earle is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Beverly (Silowan) Place; his sons David and Douglas Place; his daughters Beverly Morrison and Diana Reynolds.  He also leaves many of his siblings, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sadly he was predeceased by his son James Place and his daughter Laurel Place.  He was very proud of his family and they were a constant source of joy for him.

Visiting hours for Earle will be Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will be Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Main St., Agawam, MA.
