Obituary

Dorothy (Parker) Larson Morgan, 101, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Daughter of the late Carl and Ethel (Rano) Parker, she was born in Springfield on November 3, 1916. A lifelong resident, she was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. She worked as a secretary for many years at Western New England University. Dot was an active member of Foster Memorial Church. A talented and renowned oil painting artist, Dot’s works were frequently shown in local venues. She loved gardening, was an avid bridge player and golfer, serving as President of the Franconia Ladies Golf League.

Dot is survived by her beloved husband Charles T. Morgan of Springfield, her step-daughter Selena Morgan-Hetu and her wife Lisa of Hudson, FL, her step-son Steven Morgan and his wife Kim of Hyannis, MA; granddaughter Ashley Jenkins and her husband Robert of Northampton and several nieces and nephews. Sadly she was predeceased by her first husband Axel Larson in 1990 and her daughter Eleanor Larson in 1975.

Visiting hours at the church will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.


Service Information

Funeral services for Dot will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Foster Memorial Church UCC, 1791 Wilbraham Road, Springfield, MA. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.


Donation Information

Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
