Obituary

Dorothy (Amos) Plant, 81, of Ludlow, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Sunday March 3, 2019 with her daughter and staff of Wingate Nursing by her side on a beautiful snowy New England evening. Mrs. Plant was born on September 18th 1937 to Ellen (Harrica) & James Amos of Ludlow, Massachusetts.

She leaves us to be with the love of her life, Richard D. Plant whom she was married to for over 50 years and left the physical world far too early.

Together they raised one helluva an awesome, blended family through adoption and marriage. She is survived by her loving daughters Ruth Moorhouse (and husband Dean Moorhouse), Marguerite Roy, Deborah Herdendorf (and husband Rick Herdendorf, predeceased) and preceded in death by her son Keith Plant.

She leaves behind her grandchildren who loved her very much; Amanda and Ellen Moorhouse, Celine Printz, Emily Roy, Dawn Herdendorf, Dana Herdendorf-Lareau, Heidi Krcelich, Jamie Ann Herdendorf-Smith, Keith Plant Jr., Bonnie Inserra and Richard Plant Jr. The cycle of life begins anew with her 13 great grandchildren, two new additions of which Dorothy never met but who will carry on her legacy of love and laughter: great granddaughter Scarlett and great, great grandson Brayden.

She cherished her community, and was a member of Union Church of Christ in Ludlow, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at the Brigham Masonic Lodge in Ludlow, Massachusetts.

She loved having ice cream at the Double D, where she met our Father/Grandfather. The family will keep fond memories in our hearts of travels, her love of knitting, crocheting, coloring, and lunches at her favorite diner where we shared French fries dipped in blue cheese.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, a tough but gentle spirit, and a deep commitment to her family and her loving pets, Gwen, Zoe Ann, and Herman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be sent in her name to Union Church of Christ, PO Box 445 51 Center St. Ludlow, Massachusetts.
