David Fuller Smith

David Fuller Smith passed away in California surrounded by his wife and daughter on January 22, 2022.  He was a 1967 graduate of Ludlow High School, a proud Army veteran who served our country in Vietnam and a graduate of Western New England College. David moved to Southern California in 1978.

David leaves his beloved wife Jessica and his daughter Nicole Marie. He was the eldest of four; Pam Borkowski (David), Scott Smith (Susie) and Robin Robitaille (Steve).  He also leaves 3 nephews Daniel, Matthew and Alex, 2 nieces Carrie (Chris) and Taylor (CJ) along with a great nephew Jaxon and great niece Harper.

David was truly a wonderful husband, father, big brother and uncle and we each had our own relationships and special memories. He also leaves his close friend (and former wife) Rosemarie, many cousins and friends, whom he stayed very close to, too many to mention!

He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Roberta (Fuller) Smith, who were always so proud of him and all that he accomplished throughout his life.  Suffice to say, friends and family were the roots of his strength. David will be missed immeasurably by each and every one of us. We can all remember and learn from David as he handled all of his life challenges with strength, a positive attitude, and sense of humor that was admirable – he was truly special. Words can not really express how we each feel. He would definitely want each and every one of us to hold tight to the wonderful memories and carry on with the strength and positivity that he lived his life with! The final lesson may simply be to live your life appreciating each person that is important to you by sharing your thoughts and feelings while we are blessed to have them on this earth.

David’s wishes were not to have a “formal” funeral service so his California workplace is planning a “Celebration of Life” this month and a more intimate family farewell to be held at their convenience.
