Charles T. Morgan

Charles T. Morgan, 92, formerly of Springfield passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2023.  Born in Springfield, on March 21, 1930, he was the son of the late George and Alice (Tucker) Morgan.  Educated in local schools, Charlie was active in the Boy Scouts, earning the distinction of Eagle Scout, and had the further distinctive honor of being a committee man for Troop 275 and presenting 3 eagles at Court of Honor. He went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the U.S. Army.  Charlie worked as a meat consultant at Sweet Life Foods for 32 years, retiring in 1992.  He was a Mason with the Charles C. Spellman Lodge in East Longmeadow and a member of the York Rite. Charlie was a Shriner and a past member of the Mounted Patrol and the NCT National Camping Travelers.  He was also a member of the Hadji unit and Rambling Camper.  Charlie was very active in the Shrine participating in parades with the Model T cars and in the Mini Scooter Unit.  He was a member of the Meadows Lodge AF & AM, the Melha Shrine, and Foster Memorial Church.

Charlie is survived by his son Steven Morgan and his wife Kim of Hyannis, MA; his daughter Selena Morgan-Hetu and her wife Lisa of Hudson, FL; his granddaughter Ashley Jenkins of Turners Falls, MA; his great-grandson Michelangelo Tucker Alfaro of Turners Falls, MA; his sister Janet Beauvais, of Hilton Head, SC; as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his first wife Shirley (Weaver) Morgan in 2005, his 2^nd wife Dorothy (Parker) Morgan in 2018, his siblings George Morgan and his wife Peggy, Betty Ballas and her husband Frank, Ginny Johnson and her husband Carl, and his brother-in-law Arthur Beauvais.

Visiting Hours for Charlie will be Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2:00-3:30 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA.  A Masonic service will follow at 3:30 PM. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.  Donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.  For more information, please go to www.kapinosmazurfh.com
