Obituary

Cecile Rose (Fisher) Boivin, affectionately known as Memé, was 92 years young when she entered the eternal rest on August 31, 2021 in West Brookfield, MA.  She was born on April 2, 1929 to Edna Wudyka (later Bates) and adopted with her brother by the Fisher family.

Cecile graduated summa cum laude from a private New Hampshire boarding school. A classic dark haired beauty, she met the love of her life, Leo A. Boivin and was married at St. Anne’s Church in Three Rivers, Ma on July 4, 1949 and settled in Indian Orchard, MA. Widowed in 1966 as a young mother, she entered the work force to take care of her three sons. She started as a secretary, quickly became one of the first female stockbrokers for Merrill Lynch and later retired as a First Vice President financial advisor at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

In Cecile’s younger years she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, dancing and cooking and later shared her talents with her family. She enjoyed traveling: Israel, Iceland, Panama Canal, Hawaii, and Disney to name a few. She loved her family, flowers, art, crossword puzzles, mysteries, jewelry, card games and the occasional C.C. Manhattan (straight up with a twist). Her hugs and home were always welcoming and warm. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Ludlow, MA.

Cecile is predeceased by her husband Leo, by 55 years. She joins him and their three cherished sons David, Rick and Daniel in eternal peace. She is also predeceased by her brother Robert Fisher and her parents.

Cecile is survived by her devoted caregiver and daughter-in-law Dee Schaffner-Boivin, and daughters-in-law Gail Boivin, and Cindy Boivin; grandchildren Amber MacIntosh and husband Kevin, Heather Boivin, Forrest Boivin, David Boivin, Robert Boivin, and Krysten Boivin. Great grandchildren Autumn MacIntosh, Noah Boivin, Trinity and step-great granddaughter Emily MacIntosh as well as numerous cousins and extended family.

“Je t’aime aussi, Memé.”
